The new "DVDirect" from Sony - Posted by Kotik

Sony has now released a totally new sort of a product. It is called DVDirect. It is a device that you can either connect to your computer or your television set, and you can both burn and record stuff in it as it is a DVD-R. The goodie about it is that it also burns/reads "dual layer" DVD Disks. (Dual Layer DVDs can store more than 8 GB of data on it.)

Sony are expecting it to become a big revolution as it is a device for everyone.

New Msn 7 Beta (Built 7.0.0205) [Leaked] - Posted by Kotik
New Msn 7 Beta (Built 7.0.0205) [Leaked]

Just when I was getting tired of the msn 6 series I got to know that msn 7 has been leaked. Msn 7 Beta found its way to the internet a whole week before Microsoft was going to release the beta version.

Msn 7 comes with a handfull of new features. Msn 7 is basically made to make it more usefull rather than making it user friendly (like the earlier versions). "According to our research, 70 percent of consumers think that when it comes to the Web, useful is more important than easy" explains Yusuf Mehdi, the MSN Vice President.

For the ones who’d like more information about msn 7 before installing it, keep on reading. This review will give an idea about the exciting features msn 7 offers you.

A screen shot of the main msn screen.

This is what the main screen of msn looks like. As you can see the design and layout is a bit different from 6.xx (and earlier) versions of msn. The menus like Contacts and Actions are a bit different from the earlier versions. So that might be a bit confusing.

The wink and Nudge feature.

The wink feature is the fun part of msn 7. The wink feature provides you with a number of animations that play on your, along with the other persons (the person you are chatting with) monitor. Like at the figure bellow. Here is an eye-ball that bounces across the screen and blinks a couple of times getting your attantion immidiately.

Acclaim files for bankruptcy - Posted by Kotik

Acclaim, one of the oldest game producers in the industry, filed for a bankruptcy last Thursday. They have had a lack of good titles in the market for a long time. Their latest games like “Turok: Evolution” & “BMX XXX” have turned out to become big flops. This was their last option as they could not settle new financing.

Performance-PC's update - Posted by ReFredzRate
To our wonderful customers

This email update is merely an update on our company's current status in regards to the damage left behond from Hurricane Jeanne.

At this point we are still assessing and evaluating the damage left from Hurricane Jeanne. The majority of our area still has no power, phone, or internet access.
Currently no orders have been shipped since Hurricane Jeanne hit us on the 25th. Many of you are wondering how we are still able to make updates/email. I have been remotely administering the site from Orlando, as we have no internet access in Palm Bay. Due to the extent of the damage, we have suspended all operations until a solution can be found. Once again, our entire district is without power, phone, or internet access.

Many of you have begun to express concerns with your orders, and some have requested to cancel them completely. I want to take the opportunity to say something here: In troubling times, acts of patience and understanding do not go unnoticed by those in need. I am asking all of you to extend any patience you may have and let us try and get your current order out as soon as we can. As one of the leaders in the PC Modification industry, we understand time is of the essence. What we are asking is exactly that: Time. We need a little time to fix what mother nature has unleashed upon us two-fold. In less than 3 weeks we have been hit by two hurricanes.

Once again I want to thank all our customers for their continued patience as we diligently work towards coming back online. We will continue to update you on our status as we work towards getting back up to speed.

Best Regards,

Derek Monaghan

3DMark05 - Posted by Kotik

Full screen version

3DMark is the most famous "computer hardware tester" around the world. Its main purpose is to test your computer's tendency to run games and high detailed graphical videos.

Futurenark (the creators of 3DMark) seems to have programmed quite much of the 2005 verion of 3Dmark (a.k.a. 3DMark05). They have even let out a screenshot of a demo, that will be used to test the graphic card and the rest of the computer of course. From the picture it seems that even the newest and best graphic cards in the market will work their arses off to manage to run the demo. The old graphic cards have no chance to run the demo at all.

Note:
You can even post your score of earlier versions of 3Dmark in this post. Having a link with the desciption of the computer and score result would be cool too ;).
