AsusTek skips 6800-series - Posted by Kotik

AsusTek Computer retreats from the plans they had about dual 6800-series cards and goes for 7800GTX instead.

After the release of the 7800GTX GPU AsusTek Computers have decided to abandon the 6800-series cards, and go for the new generation dual 7800GTX graphic cards.

The prototype they had for dual 6800-series cards were no doubt powerfull. AsusTek said that they were about 1.7 times faster than cards with single GPU. But the downfall was that the cards size became a negative factor as their size became larger in both thickness and length.

Hitachi Deskstar 7K500 500GB SATA-II Hard Drive Review - Posted by webmaster
Big Bruin has tested the new Hitachi 500GB SATA-II hard drive. The harddrive seems to be really fast and it's preforming really well in the tests.

Read the review here

"The performance in benchmarks was impressive. When used in SATA150 mode, the 7K500 managed to score better than the competition in just about every phase of testing. Enabling SATA300 mode ramped up the performance slightly in most tests, and the burst speed reported in HD Tach was quite impressive as it popped up to 223 MB/s! Overall, I was expecting higher scores across the board, but the testing turned into an educational experience for me, as I learned exactly what the test system and SATA300 could do for me."
