Link Vault Review

As a site owner it is good to know the importance of link building and how the search engines rank the importance of the content on your site. Ever since the first search engines were programmed, they have used algorithms for how to calculate which site out of millions of site that should be ranked as #1 when searched for a keyword. Among many other factors are the numbers of other sites linking to your site a good measurement for the search engines to be able to determine how popular a site are. Link Vault
I can go on and on about how important link building is for your site, but instead of that, I will now tell you one way that always has worked out fine for me; link trading networks. These link trading networks are really simple to understand you trade one link for another. Instead of contacting other webmasters directly, you just sign up, add links to other sites from your site, and you automatically get links to your site. The link trading network I will write about here is called Link Vault. Link Vault has a few very good features which makes them my favorite. I really like that when you get links on one of your pages, it is always the same links, it is not different links every time you visit the page. Another very important thing is that Link Vault uses ASP or PHP to publish the links as plain simple HTML links that could easily be followed by the search engines. To get started with Link Vault is very simple, you just sign up, add the link code on your pages, add links that you want to your site, you can chose anchor texts link location and set a maximum links per day (max 20 per day) for each individual keyword. You will then have to wait for approval which only takes a few days; I don´t think I´ve ever had to wait more than 3 days for my keywords to get approved. After you have added the ASP or PHP script to your site, you will start earning points called 'Vaultage' (could take a few days before you get Vaultage for your links). If you have already set up keywords for your site, you will now get links to your site. You can also see how many links you have got for each keyword and you can see which pages your links has been added to. Link Vault uses an algorithm for calculating how good your published links are, so if your site is big, you will get more Vaultage for one link compared to not popular pages. This way, you can add just one link on your front page and get many links back.

How do I get started? First go to Link Vault and click on the link 'Sign up for a Link Vault account'.

Just add the information for your site here.

Once you have hit the 'Create Account'-button you will see the page on the image below. Make sure to read and do exactly as they tell you to do. This is where you add the link units to your site. They first gives you a .php-file you should add to your website root, than a .txt-file you should add to the website root as well and then change the read/write permission on. After this you should add links to all the pages you would like to publish their links on, and remember the more links you publish, the more Vaultage you gain and the more links will you be able to get from them. I recommend you to use 5 links on every page to gain the most Vaultage. The instructions are not completely clear about this, but the .php-file should also be uploaded to the same folder on your FTP as the .txt-file. To change the read/write access they are talking about: in most of the FTP-clients you just right click on the .txt-file, chose CHMOD or maybe it is called Permissions or something similar. Click on CHMOD and you will be able to see a number there, like 644, 666 or something like that change it to 777 and then just click OK. When you have added the links to your site, do not forget to click the link 'check setup and activate' at the bottom of the page. You are now asked to enter three URLs within your site where you have added the links to, do so and hit OK. If everything is working, it will show passed with green text in a popup windows, if it does, click the link at the bottom of this popup saying 'Remove Temporary Test Links". Click on the 'Account & Site Settings' and scroll down and click on the link "turn test mode off".

When you have added the links to all your pages on your website, click on the 'Organise Links'-button a page will appear where you can add new keywords. Be sure to choose the most suitable keywords because you can only change them later by removing the link and loose all links to this page.

When you have added a link, the 'Organise Links'-page will look like the screenshot below. As I mentioned before, it takes a few days to get a link approved.

If you look in the upper right corner of Link Vault, you will see a meter your will say 'Vaultage 0' because it takes a few days for your site to be approved and start gaining Vaultage. But after a while, the Vaultage will rise and you will start getting links to your site. The red meter that is just above 50% on the image below shows how much of your Vaultage that you use. The account I´ve taken a screenshot of here has gained 2,218 Vaultage from the links I´ve added on some websites. The red meter now shows that I´ve 'bought' links for just above 50% of that, so I will still get about twice as many links to my sites that I´ve already got.

This screenshot shows how the 'Organise Links'-page will look like when you have used your account for a while. The 'Link Active'-text in the green box shows that the link has been approved.

You can see here that one of the pages I´ve added has got 716 links which costs me 247 Vaultage. I´ve set 'Max Links Per Day' to 20, so every day, these numbers increase. There are no fixed Vaultage costs for a link if it is a good link with high PR from a good site it costs more than if it is a link from some small site.

If you click on the text '716 links : 247 V' you will be able to see all the pages that are linking to your site and when the link was added on their page. Note that it not sure that you will get 20 new links per day just because you chose it in 'Max Links Per Day', that is just a maximum and some days you will get less than that.

To get some extra Vaultage to your account, you can refer other users to Link Vault. Click on the button 'Account & Site Settings', and scroll to the bottom, you will see a box for referrals. There is a link which looks like this: http://www.link-vault.com/?ss=XXXXX If a friend of yours clicks on your link and then sign up an account, you will get 5% of all the Vaultage your friend make and he will not get any less Vaultage because he got referred by a friend, this is bonus Vaultage that Link Vault gives you for recruiting a new user.
