| Explain this to me: when i search "assassin band" on www.msn.com my site is the third one listed, but when I search site:assassin.cjb.cc on google, they haven't even listed me! And actually, I was listed before but then I was suddenly gone. Does anyone know why google would remove a site from their listing or why there would be such a differential between MSN and Google? |

I don't really know why you not longer are in the Google register, but if you want to get listed again:
http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl
There are many differences between google and msn. Msn is updating once a day while it could take weeks before google make some updates on a smal site.
You can try to get more websites to link you, when more sites links to you, you will get indexed more often by the search engines, it will also increase your rankings. |

| thanks for this link. i wondered why i haven't been showing up yet. i mean yahoo found it no problem, but google did restructure a bit so those on top fell back a bit to give the little guy like me a chance to be seen. |

I can explain it to you:
MSN does their linking algorithm differently than Google. They both value link popularity more than anything, but Google counts certain types of links ALOT more than others, and discounts insignificant links.
Google likes one-way anchor text links pointing to your site that have your keywords in your anchor text....to them, those links are relevant and significant, and Google is right, they are smart in doing that, best darn search engine in the business. |

Hi.
You "Were listed before then suddenly was gone"--are you sure you didn't use any black-hat SEO methods (hidden texts, doorway passages, etc.)? |

the only reason that you would suddenly be dropped from google's index is if you did something very wrong, like Black-hat tricks. Google is getting very smart about preventing that, so if you are doing something like keyword stuffing or cloaking then you should definently edit it.
Of course, SEO is just a funny game. It's a balance. There are always other people trying to rank for that specific keyword, so you just have to continue link building and make sure you have good & relevant content. |
