|
|
I basically only have 2 layers, one is a background layer and the other is a text layer. Within that text layer I have several styled layers such as gradient, drop shadow...the usual stuff. But everytime I try to flatten the image, the text changes quite a bit. I know you can loose resolution, but it seems to loose a lot of details that I like. Someone told me to rasterize the text layer, but that didn't work either. I would really appreciate any help on this matter I am pretty new at working with text. |

| When you merge the layers together, it will apply all of the styles (gradient, drop shadow) to the whole image |

| That's what I thought too. But the text image I have is really sharp looking chrome, and when I merge it together it becomes a very soft looking chrome, and looses alot of the small details within. Is this normal? |

Very possibly because photoshop is adding the chrome feel to the whole image now, not just the top layer |

Heres how i do it but you will loose the abillity to edit the effects of that layer
1.Create a new layer above the text layer
2.Merge (ctrl+e) the blank layer and your text layer together
now you can merge the text layer with any other layer without the effects being transferred
Another way if you have finished the image and just want to make it all 1 layer
Go to Layer > Flatten Image
and that will make the layers combine into 1 as you see it |
