What is the normal Banner Size for a website? Im looking to build a new website and I need to make a banner of course. Also what are some good idea for the background of a banner ? Are their tutorials for banners?

Size depends .. I actually don't know the regular size of a banner (if there are any).

If Im using 1280x1024 screensize. What would be a good banner size?

You could always aim to get the "golden rectangle" .. ( sorry for such a direct translation from me.. I don't know the excact english word).

You can contruct a golden rectangle by:

1. Construct a simple square (each side must be equal to eachother)
2. Draw a line from the midpoint of one side of the square to an opposite corner
3. Use that line as the radius to draw a circle that defines the height of the rectangle
4. Complete the golden rectangle

The golden rectangle has long been used by artist, sculpturs and such kin. It's the kind of rectangle that just.. looks good!

Another way to define the sides:
If a is 1, then a+b is 1/2+sqr(5)/2.

A Rectangular Banner that will fit all the way across the top of my site.
