Ati, the world's largest graphic card producers, today told that they are ready with the newest and most advanced version of Pixel Shaders in their graphic cards (Pixel Shader 3.0) but they will probably not realease it yet since no game what so far use pixel shaders that need more than 2.0 version of it.
“ATI will support Pixel Shaders 3.0 when it becomes readily available in games and applications. Currently, this feature is not readily used by the developer community and today’s top titles still largely rely on Pixel Shaders 2.0. As this trend starts to change ATI will incorporate PS3.0 into its feature set,” said John Carvill, who is public relations manager on Integrated and Mobile Products for ATI, in an interview to an Asian web-site OC WorkBench.
Other than that they are ready with the multi GPU cards that they had told us that they are working on. This new multi GPU card systems allows two visual processors to work parallel to each other and give a boost in the 3D graphics. It is a trumendous difference from the old single processor graphic cards
