| You would need to wait a day after it expires as the owner of that domain may want to keep it |

Okay heres what happening on that domain:
Let me give you a preview:
Actually the owner of every domain here on the net are the providers whom we pay to. You actually do not bought them, but rather, we only RENT them.
Meaning, every domain names are directly controlled by these providers. In which, gives them the total power to control any activity on those domain.
And here's what could be happening to your beloved domain.
As you have said, the domain name youve been wanting has been expired today (thats dec 09, 2006), and you are thinking to take it the very date the domain expires to avoid others from taking it.
But you can not actually do it, why? Simply because the domain name provider hasn't drop it yet. It may have been waiting for the original renter to take it back in a much higher price.
Here's another scenario:
The domain your talking about was just given to the web owner for free (since he just bought web hosting). But the web owner wants to transfer web hosting service to other web hosting sites (he tried to buy the domain name, maybe). But (and that's but) the domain hosting site is trying to tie the web owner's legs to stay, so the domain name provider freezes the domain name. |
