| I have never come across this problem myself but what i do know is that some films have copyright protection on the actual movie files, which meens you can printscreen them, if thats not your case then i can only suspect you are trying to edit a background layer. If the layer you are editing is the back ground create a new layer and work on that. ( never work on the background layer ) |

thank you hojo,
but i think this not copyright matter, and yes i did created a new layer then paste the pic over it.
i printed screen the movie or video clip from windows media player .
if i pasted it (while not paused the movie on wmp) the movie is still running in adobe photoshop.
so when i tried to save it, only wmp interface pic was visible. like the clip has lost it's frame... so it became black (showing no pic).
ps: when i did the same on the clip played with flv player (flash movie player) i got what i want , a still picture.
....uhhh... really weird.. please help...
thanks, |

it's weird like that, it happens to me too. I think it has something to do with it being real time, as in I tried it once and the movie was playing through photoshop :S
Try take a prnt screen of the prnt screen, or check that the layer isnt locked

what movie player are you using?
many players render an image to an overlay or renderless surface which cannot be captured via PrintfScreen
i use Media Player Classic from K-Lite Codec pack
in the Output menu, i just set Video Output to VRM9 or Uncompressed and PrintScreen works (while not working with other output methods) |

hiii... i found it..
go to tool->option->performance tab -> click advance button , then uncheck the 'use overlay' on video acceleration.
print screen your pic, and you'll get the still pic.
Thank you all for helping... ^^ |
