excuse this newb question,
but could anyone please explain
how to stop shapes locking into place
when we move them around with the selector tool?

for example i have three circles, and I would like to
make the third cicrle touch the other two exacly on the edge,
but when I move it, it locks before or over the edge.

infurriating when you have no idea.

any help much appreciated.

Hmm... make sure you don't have smart guides on. View > smart guides. Also, make sure "Snap to Grid" or "Snap to Point" are not checked in the View menu.
