i generally find it very clever how in excel and visual basic code you can write, If X = Y show me Y here

anyway, what im interested in is can you do this kind of reference stuff (dno what to call it) on websites.

so i've got a blog on blogspot, with links on the side to other blogs and each link has a picture next to it. but the html code for that picture is just a link to my photobucket uploaded version which i have reduced size offline.
so the scenario is can you make {thumbnail of other blog's profile pic} = {link to their profile pic} and make the thumbnail always change and update whenever they change their profile picture
