I made myself a 1024x768 artwork...

I started with a generated image by my Apophysis:

http://www.devppl.com/forum/aphosysis-vt2577.html?highlight=apophysis

I played around with all sorts of Ps functions to come to 'SYNAPSIS'...

The only thing that boughters me is the lack of an anti aliasing at the brush I used left, under... The one with the lines... I blurred it a bit, but I better didn't... Anny way to anti alias them without loss of sharpness?... (some 'perfectum' like filter?... )

Impulsive...

euh, I started inverting my image.. I applied some very transparent paths to the scene. I brushed some pieces (blending options: overlay) to let them lite up a bit more...
I played around with curves, brightness and contrast, hue and saturation...
After all, I inverted it all back, because I wanted it to look dark. I added my impulsive logo + a 'metrostation' brush. (http://www.peamarte.it/02/download.html)

The synapsis text was just a text, rotatated and added perspective...
I duplicated the layer... The above, I blurred... I gave both a mask, to make it look focused on the middle... that's quite it..

Imp..

Don't think there's anyway to help you with the brush.. Making it smaller perhaps.. but you knew that Very Happy

what's that say about Macs?
PCs all the way baby!

I think the effect is pretty cool. I might look into using that program a little bit. Till now when I needed an abstract image pattern I would open up my music player and take some screen shots of the visual effects plugin.

That's another way Very Happy...

I don't know why you all complain about the complexity of apophisys?...
You don't have to understand the math's behind it to create a beautiful pattern ^^... the version I'm using consists of a mutation menu: you can pick the pattern you like most, out of a list of 8 other patters that all has a slightly distorted factor, related to the one in the middle...
With this method you could come to the prefered pattern ^^
