Some pro's, some con's...
Pro: creativity and certain techniques...
Con: Blending options :s (like the bevel on the leaf on first creation)...

thanks =),
About the bleding options, it's pretty hard to find the right option/effect to use, because there are so much things you can do, but with allot of practise and good advices i'll come there =)

Great first attempt - that's pretty good for a newbie
Impulsive's right, though - you give yourself away by your use of the blending options - to anyone with an eye for graphics they come across as tacky and overused (like word-art in Microsoft Word!)
Remember, less is more. If you really want to use the blending effects, keep them low-key.
On the plus side, I really like your circle design in the top graphic. Nice work.  |

Welcome to photoshop! There is practically no end to the depths of refinement you can acheive, the key is to keep learning. Good 1st attempt, looks much better than my 1sts. As for advice, learn the pen tool right of the bat, I waited a long time to delve into it because at first it can seem intimidating, but it is an EXTREMELY usefull tool and can really give your work a polished look if used correctly.
