Ok i need some help...
First how can i make my text look cooler? Like with out the Swatches n stuff...
Second How can i make something like this?

if u wanna make your texts betters
right click on the layer>blending option> then play around with them |

Re: your second question
The background looks like vector curves (should be pretty easy to draw with the pen tool) with inner 'stroke' and 'glow' effects applied.
Then just layer the text on top...  |
