Here is my final project, i had to create a vector of an image with reflective proporties, so i picked a saxophone, cause i play the sax and figure i could hang it up in my house or somthing.. any way.. here it is compaired to the original.

I like it, but not the green reflection, its dark on the original.

Oh sorry.. i wasn't done with the project, i just wanted to show you guys my work in progress. Here another version after about 5 more hours of work on it, bringin the total to a good 15 hours... If i can score well i should pass this class with high marks.. anyway, this second one is after i went in and changed colors, added some shadows and 'shines' to the saxophone. I hope you all can see 5 hours of progess Check it out,

Thanks man! i appreciate the feedback. Each little shape is an object... lol.. it's really hard to comprend what its like unles you select it all and just see all the different parts.. lol, next time i post i'll do a selction screen shot and you guys can see how many little pieces are in it. thanks again phate.

thats just awesome.... how many different layers of objects did you have to use?! and what did you use for the reflections?

13 layers, with prob 20 objects on each layer.. umm reflections are al just shapes... some have their opacity lowered... below i put my progress and a screen shot of all the pieces selected, each different color is a different layer (some layers use the same color). its cool i think...

Geting closer
If any of you use illustrator, mess around with the gradient mesh tool, what an awesome thing to have, it does make computers lacking memory about explode, but what a difference... on this picture i used a gradient mesh on the gold 'balls' at the top is a ball without a mesh, follow that silver tube down then there is a 2 mesh image, a little sloppy, need to clean it up a bit, and at the bottom a single mesh that i think looks super good.

Sorry i havn't been watching the forums to well, i'm 'back at home with SLOOOOOOW internet. Yeah, i can maybe post some tutorials.. that sax took me around 80 hours in total and i ended up with an A in the class and a 98/100 on the project.
