How are you doing it?

If you drag the layer onto the stroke icon then you won't get the option box, but if you right click on the layer and select "stroke path" then the simulate pressure dialog should appear.

If you right click on the path layer you should be able to select "stroke path". Then you should see a dialog with the option to select brush or pencil, and to simulate brush pressure.

It it's not doing this, then I'm afraid I don't know why Sad
If no-one's replied to you by Monday then I'll have a look on CS3 at work (I've only got CS2 here)

Sorry I can't think why it would be omitting this option...

Mate I don't know why it's doing this. I just tried it on CS3 now and it's exactly the same as CS2.

Is this also what it does when you select and right-click on the path that's actually on your canvas (not the one in the layers palette)?

The only other thing I can suggest is to reset your Photoshop preferences by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift as Photoshop is starting up. This may clear the problem - if not then I'm out of ideas. Sad

not sure if this is the same thing as rach is suggesting but try making your working space back to default there is a button for it right on the menu bar
