hi,
not quite i understand your 2 questions... and what your trying to achieve....

"trace a line" i don't understand... what tool are you using.... there a lot of things you can do... for example you can use your pencile tool to draw a line... then you can select that line and you can actually increase the thickness... but i don't know if that what you want or need!! ..

translucient...mmmm possibly using opacity.....for example do this...... and see if this close to what you need.... with your image... just select a area and then do a copy and then paste... the pasted section will be now on a new seperate layer............ and move that pasted section around (just so you can the effects) while the new layer highlight.... then in your layer pallett click and move the opacity slide bar... you will notice that the selected part you wanted will be transparent/translucient... is that why you need.?

Thanks again Jerry, that did it

Since I am in a roll getting awsome help, next 2 questions:

1- When I trace a line I can't seem to be able to make thicker (I change the stroke but it does not change?)

2-And most important- This one won't be easy to explain, I would like to fill the rectangle with a "pattern" that simulates glass, I tried to use the pattern maker with some pictures of windows I have, but it wont work, is there a trick to have a semi-transparent pattern?

Thanks again!!
PS is it

hi,
i would create a new blank layer... that will transparent (checkerboard pattern and no background)...new layer is active, now then on that new layer create your rectangle..... you will now have a rectangle with no background

at that point now you can easily skew and position that rectangel in relation to your image any way you want ....

I have been away from computers (family holiday)

I just tried the Pencil, that was it, and as far the opacity is a step in the right direction, I am experimenting with it.

Thanks again
