| Here's a beginners guide to overclocking, for all of you to enjoy. This might just come in very handy when you feel your system is running slow, or you want to upgrade but at the moment you obviously just don't have the cash. Today, they have released a beginners guide to overclocking, Part 2! More info on overclocking yet! Knowledge is power right, but an overclocked system just sucks the respect straigt into your court! lol... You need some serious fans in order to keep your stuff cool indeed. But somehow I can't manage to get my CPU overclocked as well. Got to get into the overclocking scene a bit deeper to find out some more about that little issue. My guess is that my CPU still has to be unlocked  |

P3's are fairly hard to overclock. Only thing you can actually do to it is raise the core voltage, since Intel locks their multipliers.
AMD on the other hand, makes it easy for overclockers. Their users just need to draw one simple line on the CPU with a pencil, to unlock the multiplier.
That's one of the things I like about AMD. They seem less commercial than Intel. Intel makes it nearly impossible to overclock. You want something faster? Go to your local shop and get a faster Intel CPU. AMD is more like: You want something faster? Here's a pencil... good luck! |
