Open up a document 400x400 and set ur color to anything, then goto gradient tool and pick reflected gradient then just make a couple of lines then goto filter>Brush Strokes>Ink Outlines and then it makes a 3Dish effect..if u want this in the tut place ill put pics in it.

well it technically is a tutorial, so for future referance place them in the tut section.

That don't make sense if you do two lines with the gradient tool the second one will replace the first one if you don't use any blend mode.

Change blend mode of the gradient to difference and it will work. I've used that technique to in many tutorials to have a nice background to work on. For example:

About the member-tutorials. I want to have good quality of the tutorials, that's why I only allow some people to post in the Photoshop Tutorials -section, but if a user-tutorial is good, I move it there. So if you want to post tutorials, do in in the ordinry Photoshop Forum.
