What is the coding to ensure that a counter is increased everytime a button is pressed and it has not changed its value after the first time i.e. the counter is increased the first time the button is pressed, however after the first incremental the value of the counter stays the same, regardless of the other indications of other processes occuring at each instance of the button being pressed e.g. the records that are being displayed are proceeding to move to the next record.
