A total noob question

Postby Uzisuicide on Sat Apr 28, 2007 2:14 pm

Hi, I would be ever so grateful if someone can answer this probably so easy to answer question.

When I click New and create a new plain white background, why can't I put layers onto it or change the background to a layer, when I double click on the background text in the tab it doesn't allow me to change it to a layer.

It has a padlock next to it so I take it it's locked. How do I unlock?

Thanks.

You should be able to add more layers. Try using this short cut "ctrl + shift + n"
See if that works.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately ctrl-shift-n doesn't appear to do anything.

What is the easiest way to create a plain white layer of say 20cm x 25cm that I can add other layers to?

Thanks

Just duplicate the background layer and delete the locked one

hit ctrl-J (to duplicate your background layer) and then right click the locked layer and click delete. Should solve any problems.
It is very irritating though.
