Add Font to Photoshop?

Hello,

Can anyone tell me how to add a new font to the drop down list of fonts shown when a new text window is opened? I can't find a Font folder in my Photoshop applicaition folder.

I have several fonts in my System Folder (Mac OS 10.3.9) that I would like to be able to use in Photoshop.

By the way, I use a very old version of Photoshop - v3.0.1.

well its kinda hard help someone using mac and photoshop 3.1

most of us use win xp and photoshop CS2 i guess

Yeh iv never used a mac

On Windows its done through the control panel to instal fonts

maybe similar in Mac?

I know about this much about mac:

Anyways, in windows you can add the font by draging the file into this folder:
C:\WINDOWS\FONTS
When you've dragged it in, it installs it's self and VOILA, it's in photoshop.. as well as Word.. as well as what ever other font using program you can think of.

Maybe there's a similar folder in mac?

Thanks for the replies guys.

I've already added the fonts to my system fonts folder, which is pretty much the same thing in Mac and Windows. But the added fonts don't show up in Photoshop.

I'm going to take this question to a Mac users forum. It's probably more an operating system problem than a PS problem.

Sorry about my old version of PS, but it gets the job done. With only one "undo" you've got to get it right the first time. Speaking of oldies, I also have a copy of PS version 1.0! If anyone would like a copy out of curiosity, email me and I'll send it to you (works on Mac only). I'm sure that version is considered abandonware by now.
