Advice on which colour mode to use for my graphics ( to be p

Postby Peterjg1972 on Wed May 02, 2007 3:50 pm

Wonder if some clever person could help me?

I've done some simple black and white line art
scanned it and have now added some colour gradients and flood fills in photoshop. they are 300 ppi Tiff files. The problem is i dont know which Mode to save them in for printing

Indexed colour
RGB
CYMK
or Lab colour

When i have saved one in RGB and printed it out, the reds were very subdued
What would be the best mode to save this type of art work in?

Thanks

CYMK is the mode used by most printers. By and large, printers will convert an image to this mode if it isn't already there. Use this mode for printing.

Understand though, that it may not be the printer's fault that the colors are getting changed. If your monitor is out of calibration, it's not going to display the colors correctly. In this case, the colors you see on your monitor will still be different from what you see in print.
