alternative way of displaying an image

alternative way of displaying an image

Postby dazz_club on Fri Mar 02, 2007 9:44 am

Hi there, im working on a site, www.colourchange.com/drink/. And with most websites there are images that if you click on, will display the image at a bigger scale. kinda like how a thumbnail works.

At the moment iv got it to work where the user ( http://www.colourchange.com/drink/game-cards.html ) can click on either "view image" link or the image itself. this will then open up a new window to display the full scale image.

i dont really want to have to create html pages for each image as this is just too much , is there an alternative method i could possibly use.

cheers

Yeah but you would have to use javascript...

If you don't want to re-write the code just copy and paste the code, take out the parts that you don't need, and replace it with the picture.

Not completely sure what you're wanting. If you want a formatted page (header, nav links, etc..) which shows the pic at original size you could always use php page and pass it the pic name. Something like: pic.php?pic=MYPIC.jpg (this could also be done with javascript, I think). If you're just wanting to popup some kind of small window which shows the pic you could use Javascript like Lucas was saying, but in a seperate file and then just include that javascript file in all your html page heads. Hope this helps, if not post back with a little more description for how you want things to look.
