and it's bugging me how to create this sort of finish...any ideas ??? thanks

hi,
to me that sort of looks l ike a HDR effect and they went a little on the dark side to enphasize the dark clouds..

now normally you would take shots of the same object but at different exposures
but you can do a fake/single image hdr ...

there ton of tutorials on the nete on this....
here one or 2
note: your photoshop version may have a special feature for hdr.... older versions of photoshop , like cs1, don't...

in addition there
there are actions that caan be downloaded and also there plugins... my self i use a plug in...

hi,
your quite welcome....

just a note.. with single image hdr.... you can make some very dramtic effects.. but i like it because it easier for me to enhance the colors just a little which can improve a photo a lot... .....
