1 - In 5 you could go to Edit -> Transform -> Numeric and rotate an image by a certain percent, but I can't see how to do this in 7? Did they get rid of this feature?

2 - In 7 the Layer -> Effects -> Outer Glow looks totally different to me than in 5. In 5 I can get a kind of fuzzy, fading out colors behind text, I can't figure out how to get the same look in 7. Sorry if that is not explained very well though, it's hard to put something like that into words.

I was pretty excited to have upgraded, but have found myself going back to 5 to be able to replicate things I did previously in 5.

Thanks for any help!

hi,
first.....
corel draw... I can't help you on that other than just finding tutorials links... I don't have the program......

you may need to find a board that specifically address corel draw and there many forums... this search result show a few hits... when you visit those forums one of the things you looked for is how active the board...
http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=UTF-8 ... w-corr-top

the only other forum i presently use that will have both photoshop and corel draw is at http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/ .... it mostly photoshop but but many of the members will have expereience with other popular graphic programs llike corels's or gimp, etc...

there enphasis is on retouching/recontrcutin photo's ...

as far as myself... i am a old man who retired and live in the middle U.S.A

hi,
Yes i do know where napal is... and i do know something about it...

as far as how people learn.. it a wide range of ways
1. formal training... many of our schools, junior high schools, high school, your community collages, trade schools, etc) have classes for PS and other areas of graphics...
2. then there your online courses or they can order course on dvd's ...
3. like me, where PS is a hobby, most people are self taught... that the cheapest... smiling... and we learn the basic techniques and tools usage and then utilize the thousands of tutorials that avail on the net to practice the more advance techniques...

4. i also utilize the various boards to learn... like this board and retouchpro.com .... retouchpro... i have learned an awful lot there... because the philosphy of the board and the utilize uuploading images and using your images and show you specific procedures how things can be done... plus you see a lot of different ways of doing the same thing which is important... it a good place to try and do some of the same thing they do and compare results...

final note:::: in all things.... practice is always required!!!

well that basically it.... something that you might think about....
1. if there enough people , where your at that interested in photoshop or corel, you might want to form a ittle club... here in the states we have a lot of clubs... in the computer field, you'll find clubs for pc's, or clubs that concentrate on specific areas or programs like word processing or graphics or video, etc...... these clubs serves as social gathering, and also place to learn and share....
