ASP Login and Registration Form Programming

Postby mike_crock on Wed Dec 08, 2004 7:50 am

Hi my name's Mike.

I do not know much code but I have tried many tutorials and none of them work!

I would like to have a members area on my site so for this I have created an ACCESS database and a login and registration page on Dreamweaver MX 2004. However, everything I have tried hasn't worked.

I would like the registration form details to be entered into my database when all the data has been entered - I have used a validate form behaviour within dreamweaver, to create required fields.
I would also like the username to be looked up to see if it has already been taken by another user.
Finally, I would also like a simple login system for the users.

As I've said, I have tried many different tutorials and none of them work!

I would be very grateful for some help.

Registration and Login Forms

Postby mike_crock on Mon Dec 13, 2004 2:56 pm

Hi ultramel, unfortunately, i did not understand your last post. I would like a simple login system that involves the database: http://www.yesboys.co.uk/mike/Login.mdb

I would like to use the following registration form: www.yesboys.co.uk/mike/register.asp

And I would like to use the following Login page: www.yesboys.co.uk/mike/login.asp

I would like the username field to be looked up from the database to see if it has already been taken. If it has, I would like it to be redirected to www.yesboys.co.uk/mike/usernamefail.asp

When the registration form has been submitted to the database correctly, go to www.yesboys.co.uk/mike/thanks.asp

If you would like anyother details, then please let me know. I would just like to know how to do this, by being able to copy the relevant code etc.

Many Thanks

Mike, you may also contact me on MSN messenger using the same address. mike_crock@hotmail.com

Please Note: I am soon going to be changing onto my own server

Is there going to be any compensation for the person that does this?
