Automating Active X controls

Automating Active X controls

Postby deanmcel on Fri May 04, 2007 4:10 am

I have added drop down menus to web site and it causes active x control and requiring to allow blocked content and approve active x to run. Microsoft has some cryptic instructions to allow active x automatically, but I can't figure it out. Appreciate any help!! Thanks

It is not my intention to give a dorky comment here, but I suggest you do not use activex, it works only on windows, and only in internet explorer (it's possible to do it in firefox, but you need to install a special plugin)

world wide use of internet explorer is dropping, I think at the moment some 35% is using firefox another 5-10% is using other browsers (like safari or opera etc.). Which means a lot of people can not view activex.

I'd suggest to use flash or javascript, they are both widely supported in browsers and on different platforms.
