Correct scorpweb =)
rQX^: Press "D" to reset the colors in photoshop, click on the Paint Bucket Tool and hold the mousebutton down, choose Gradient Tool, click on the image and hold the mouse button down, make a line and release the button. Now you got the black-white fading.
Tips: While draging the line, hold down "Shift" to make straight lines.
Tips: Change the colors as you want, I used dark and light grey.
How I made the horizontal lines:
Make a new image 2 pixels height and 1 pixel width. Set "Background Contents" to Transperant. Zoom in, and paint the upper pixel black. Click Edit > Define Pattern, OK.
Go to the image you want the horizontal lines on. Click on The "Paint Bucket Tool" and in the upper-left corner of the screen, change Fill from "Foreground" to "Pattern". Now click in the little preview box for "Pattern", select your pattern and the click on the image to add the horizontal lines.
Tips: Make a new layer and paint the horizontal lines there, then you can change the Opacity of you lines. |

Press CTRL+N, set width, height and change the "Background Contents" to Transperant (default is White I think) |

| okay... but if you made a pattern with 2 x 1 pixels, and u painted the upper pixel black. That would mean every other line in the picture should have a horizental line. But your lines vary in thickness and space between each other. Can you explain what I am missing? |

Copy the image, open it in photoshop and zoom, you will see that every line is 1px height and it is 1px space between them everywhere =) |

| When I zoomed in to the picture of the camera and checked the lines very carefully I saw that the pattern was 5 px in Hight & 1 px Length, with the top 2 pixels colored. :S |
