Banner Span / Horizontal Scrolling

Banner Span / Horizontal Scrolling

Postby instinct46 on Mon Mar 10, 2008 10:36 am

Hi,

Right I always see websites which have there banners which span horizontally across the screen with no white space above or to the sides, so i created a image which would go behind the banner and span across 120% size of the screen and it works, yet I am left with horizontal scrolling bar, am I doing this wrong or is there away to disable the horiztonal scrolling bar. :x

Well try setting it to just 100% as 120% is 20% more than is visible on the screen so the user has to scroll to see the rest.

Adding overflow:hidden; in your CSS will get rid of whatever scrollbars annoy you :)

You just have to consider one drawback..is that you'll loose sight on the other contents which go beyond your browser's height ;)
