Batch editing question

Hi,
I have to a copy a rectangular area in of hundreds of images (in .gif format) and paste it into center of
another larger template image to create hundreds of new images. Please tell me how to make
a batch of this. If it is not possible, Please tell me how i can crop the hundreds of images using a batch action.
