Batch Resize, Copyright & Watermark

Postby adesignrsa on Tue Feb 06, 2007 6:55 pm

Hi All, I hope you can help me.

I'm a 'relatively' advanced Photoshop user and I have managed to create a batch action that successfully resizes my images and saves them in a separate folder for uploading to our website for sale (sport mostly).

The size and optimization is fine, but I want to ideally copyright the images in the file info (not a problem), and watermark the images with a semi-transparent logo and a copyright notice and signature at the bottom right of each image.

It's the watermark that is pissing me off. I cannot get it right in Photoshop and the best I have is a droplet I created in Imageready. It does not accept large quantities of images at a go.

Imageready positions it smartly (some pics are landscape, and some portrait). The size of the watermark will be such that it accommodates the different dimensioned images, but positioning it and putting it into an action is proving to be a bitch.

Does anyone have a silver bullet for me that'll make me slap my forehead, or a link to a decent tutorial.

I normally do batch processes from 200 images to 1500 images at a time, so it needs to handle the load too... I don't mind waiting, as long as it's slow and steady and will finish the race.

I hope someone can help me...

Here are the images I am using:

The (intended) finished product

All copyable from the web in their correct format.

Hi
This may work.
If you have copied to watermark onto the main file as a separate layer, you can select the background layer, link the watermark layer to it, then use Layer>Align Linked>Bottom Edges and Layer>Align Linked>Right Edges. You may have to increase the Canvas Size of the watermark to move it away from the margins.
