Hi,
I have about 200 photos that I want to scale to about half the resolution.
So instead of 2000 x 2600, I want 1000 x 1300.
What is the best way to go about this with batch of photos?

Thanks for the video clip, but that shows only applying to a single image.

I have about 200 images.
I don't want to have to do that 200 times manually.

Is there an automated way to apply that action to a batch of photos.

Click on the image to view it at its original size
Click on the Actions tab and the palette will come out.

Click on the image to view it at its original size
Click on the Create New Action Button

Click on the image to view it at its original size
Name your action.

Click on the image to view it at its original size
Click on the Record Action button.

Click on the image to view it at its original size
Resize your image and do what ever you want to do to all your images then click the Stop button beside the record button. Then any time you want to use that you just need to have your image open and have the action you just made selected and click the ply button. There is a way to make something called a Droplet, I watched a podcast about how to make one the other day but I forgot and you can save it to your desktop and you just drag a folder in and it will do it all at once.

I searched for a software which can do this task

I found Digitope Picture converter ..

I still searching for its crack .. but it will work for 30 days "free trial" ...

I've asked my friend and she told me how to resize (or any task in the PS "by using actions") a group of photos

1- Put all of the images you wanna resize in a single folder , also make a new empty folder for the resized photos .

2- Make the action you wanna use on the photos . (here you can use the action which I made , or follow Johnatahn's instructions to make the action you want) and save the action.

3- Now everything is allright .. we just have to put the batch options to finish .

go to File -- Automate-- Batch

and this window will appear



4- then pres ok and let the PS do the task ... don't run any programmes to prevent the PS hang .

Go to File> Scripts> Image Processor

You can choose to save as JPG, PSD, or TIFF, and all three options allow you to resize the image however you desire.

Image processor allows you to specify an input method (open images, or apply to an entire folder), and an output folder (or the same folder you input from). You can even open the first image, and use it to create a series of commands to be run on the rest of the images.

So why would you want to create a script or action, when it's already been done for you?

Go the same question except not sure how to make the automation AND
did what the images show but where's the feature that says what final size you actually want it (And i'm hoping this also keeps the originals intact).Basically what I want to do is this. take a group of photos and resize them all at once also add the word 'shrunk' at the end of each file.
so photo 1 called 'apple.jpg' would be renamed 'apple.shrunk.jpg' and 'banana.jpg' would be renamed 'banana.shrunk.jpg' etc. All of this while still maintaing the original files with the riginal titles.
