Best way to get traffic to a site

I am starting a site and ain't sure how to get people to see it that i don't have on my MSN. What would be a good way?

There is always an alternativ to pay for your visitors. If you think you are able to earn money on your site if it has many visitors, it could be an idea to use for exampe AdWords to buy visitors for as low as 1 cent / visitor.

Some free ways is it join webrings or write good content and get visitors from the search engines.

I have clicked that link twice now teh 1st time it said it never worked so I never bothered this time however it did.

Search engines seem to only add site sif tehy have a paid domain name like .com or .net and so on

That's not true. No search engines care about that. Just get some links to the page and they will find you.
