Best way to remove wavy green lines from a scanned passport?

Postby colbing on Wed Mar 21, 2007 7:38 am

I have scanned an old passport photo of my wife, but it is covered with wavy green lines. The clone tool would just be too slow and difficult. Is there some way I could make a pattern selection on the green then move the adjacent colours over it?
Thanks,
Colin

If you could post the image that would be a great help. Often, the answer to these kinds of questions depend on the image itself.

If you don't know how to post an image, it involves using a web hosting site. I use one called Photobucket (http://s42.photobucket.com/). They let you post images up to 800x600 for free, and there's not a lot of advertising.

There are only 10 types of people in this world- those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I have posted the image on http://flickr.com but I am not sure how you find it! You could search for Colin Reader or the tags Bing and passport.
I have had some success by using the select by color, selecting green and adjusting the fuzziness. I then used the eyedropper to select the adjacent color and the paint bucket to fill the selection. I think there must be a more elegant solution than this.
