bring anchor points together?

Is there a way to bring anchor points...like selecting one anchor point from three objects and aligning just those points (not the whole object as the align tools seem to do)? This would save me a ton of time!

Turn on smart guides in the view menu. Then select the anchor point, drag it over the anchor point you want to align it with until smart guides say 'anchor'.
