hi,
well ..inspiron e1505 doesn't tell me enough, how much ram it really has, the speed of the processor.... etc...
so my answer going to be based on some guess on what ram you do have and cpu speed.... earlier models had a only 1.6 gig cpu and 512 meg ram... and it had win xp... if i am wrong let me know...
one of the first things i would do is run a virus and antispyware scan of your system to make sure malware not the cause....
after that.. .. then i would look at your startup programs... i would disable all needless one... that will help regain some valuable ram and also that should increase your performance..... i suggest also purge your interent cache, clean out your tmp files and defrag... defrag helps in a few ways....
another area to look... is your task manager> performance... it should be under 5% when your not doing anything.. if it above that then check your performance tab and see what using up your cpu performance...
another place to look is your controlpanel>admin tools> event logs.... see if there any abnormal problems with programs there... things to loook for is where a program like your virus scanner or firewalls and such... there trying to communicate but failing to... that can slow things down if it continouse...
those are some ideas to work with

I run vista on a Dell Inspiron E1505. The internet on it constantly disconnects completely. The little blue globe turns into the red X. My brothers laptop never has the same problem so I assume its my computer and not the internet. My computer also tends to have lag problems, especially with windows media player and playing music. The music skips and lags and PISSES ME OFF. help me please.
