can't draw

Postby nick7er on Wed Apr 11, 2007 9:57 pm

I know this sounds really dumb but I just got Photoshop CS2, and it won't let me draw with the pencil/brush tools. I have the right color selected, but when I try to draw nothing happens
please help!

also look at the toolbar at the top and make sure that your opacity isn't set to 0%.

You could try using the shape tool and see if that has the same problem (that might help you narrow down wether or not it is a layer problem or a tool problem)

Let us know. :)

Good call on the blending mode!
nick7er: right up by the brush opacity should be a mode. If this is set to anything other than normal it may be causing the problem.

You can also try creating a new blank layer (layer - new layer) and trying the brush/pencil tool to see if they work on a blank layer.

maybe the fill of the layer is set to 0% but i doubt it
did you look at the flow of the brush is it set to 100% it's just right to the blending mode and the opacity of the brush
or maybe there are some settings in the brush presets palet , it's in the upper right corner sais Brushes,Comps,Presets

the fill and flow of brush are set to 100% and this is happening with the pencil tool too.
