Can't zoom right in using CS5, but can with CS3

Postby MrDavo on Mon Nov 14, 2011 2:48 am

Hi Everyone,

I have noticed an interesting change in the "Full Screen Mode with Menu Bar" view between versions CS3 & CS5.

In CS3 it is possible to zoom outside of the image, or effectively zoom right into a corner, and then drag the navigation box to the side, past the confines of the actual image. This feature, shown in the link below, is very useful for getting into "hard to reach places" when cleaning photos up.

However in CS5 this is no longer possible.

The CS3 verison is superior in my opinion as it is easier to get right into the corner of an image (at high zoom leves) and use the eraser or brush tools.

If anybody can tell me if CS5 can be setup to allow for the behaviour in CS3 that I described above can you please let me know how?

Kind Regards,

Davo

I believe what you're looking for is under Photoshop preferences >general> check the zoom box I'm not in Photoshop at the moment but I believe that's where it is

hi,
maybe i don't fully understand... I don't use the navagator that much..
note I have win and ps 64 bit

now with mine... all i do is when i got full screen i do need to go into the corners or sides, i do need to hit the edges....

i just make sure i use the hand tool to move the image to where i have the image and i can see the photoshop board background... i can easily bring in something like a brush or eraser and easily get the corners or edges... i don't run into the issue your addressing where you have a problem withose areas..

now something i used to do a lot with my old cs1, don't need to with cs5, on the corneers and edges...
is that enlarge the canvas , not image, that will let you get in those area much easier and also on cs5 navagator allow you go past the image alittle..
