Canvas color

Canvas color

Postby manton on Mon Mar 26, 2007 8:09 pm

Please, don't laugh at me on the following question...I am completely new to Illustrator
How do I change the canvas color? I deal with an image that is white on the background.

Thank you in advance

Personally, I would use the square or rectangle shape and make it the size of the canvas and fill it with your desired color for Layer 1, then add a layer and put your white design on top, then if you don't need/want to print the colored background, you can take it off and print....I don't know exactly either, just mess around and I know this works in the mean time.

you could also change the white to a different color while you are editing it, and then change it back to white when you are finished. or, like the previous post, just draw a black box as big as the canvas, put it on its own later on the bottom and lock it.
