changing color overlay in layer style??

Postby alluraofarus on Sun Jun 24, 2007 1:14 am

I have a transparent layer with blocky text in several colors, and I want to make it all one color. So I did a color overlay in the "Layer Styles" window, and it looks great aside from the fact that it will only let me change the layer's color to bright red (which clashes witrh the rest of the image). Is there a way to change the color of the color overlay?? It seems to do exactly what I wanted it to do, aside from the fact that it will only change the color to red (which seems sort of pointless...?). I'm using Photoshop 6.0. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Ok, I had to dust off my copy of 6.0 to answer this one. Here's a screenshot of the Layer> Layer Style> Color Overlay dialog box:

See the red box next to the 'Blend Mode' menu? that's the color picker. Double click the box to bring up the color picker dialog box and choose a new color.
