Clone tool in photoshop

I am trying to use the clone tool in photoshop and it will only shadow over the person or figure that I am trying to cover. Opacity is 100% flow is 95%. I feel I have turned something on and but what I don't know. Helping me would save me from throwing my computer across the room. lol. It was working before and I loved using this tool but now wont work properly for me.

only time i have that problem is if ur trying to clone to difrent layers and have not switched over or u have not rasterized the layer....

welcome to the forum both of you im not sure what ya problem is but you have posted it in the wrong forum this is the gallery it needs to be in the main PS forum

If you are using the clone tool, the only way you would be getting shadow is if.

A. you are cloning a peace witch has shadow on it.

B. as said above from another layer

other than that i would check to make sure you didnt catch any other buttons.. like caps lock num lock anything at all may change what it does.
