COLOR WAY OFF IN CS3 NEED HELP ASAP

Postby coolguy4sho on Thu Jun 07, 2007 5:25 pm

I am currently using Photoshop CS3, but there is an annoying issue I am experiencing, it is that white appears yellow in photoshop. Not just white, though, any image viewed in photoshop would appear warmer or darker than it really is, which is a problem for me during editing because I wouldn't know which color to use or not use.

Click the following links below to see what I am talking about.

1. Untitled-1 new image in PS and a blank white space in Paint.

2. Beautiful girl in white bikini & grey background (how it should be) and same beautiful girl in yellowish bikini & warm background viewed in Photoshop CS3.

IF ANYONE COULD HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure if it is the same in CS3 but - go to edit - color settings, and look at your working spaces and your color management policies.

Are your policies set to preserve the embedded profiles, or to convert?
What is your working RGB/CMYK space? (depending on which you your images are in)

This is the first place i would look to solve the problem.

Color Setting

Postby coolguy4sho on Thu Jun 07, 2007 11:14 pm

Hey Guy,

Thanks for your help, I just figured out what happened. I played around with Settings drop down menu and the image changed to its original color, I have it set to Monitor Color now. :)

Hmmm... so that isn't it. I found this thread @ adobe:
http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.3bc4061a where they are saying it is an monitor calibration problem. Not sure how useful that is, but it may be worth a shot.
