Creating a clipping mask from a set of shapes
Hi,
I am having trouble creating a clipping mask using a set of shapes. Here is what I have done:
I have created an icon using a set of shapes. Some of the shapes overlap, while some do not. I want to fill the entire icon with a metallic gradient fill. To do this, I put all my shapes in Layer 1. In Layer 2, I created a second shape, which is large enough to overlap all of the shapes in my icon. Then I filled the Layer 2 shape with a gradient.
I moved the Layer 1 shapes over top of my Layer 2 shape, selected the layer 1 and layer 2 shapes and then tried "create clipping mask". However, only one of the shapes seem to be used to create the mask, rather than all of the shapes in the icon. Can someone please advise what I'm doing wrong?
If you'd like, I can put the file on an FTP site for you to download.
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Creating a clipping mask from a set of shapes
I am a bit confused, sorry probably me.
Try merging the layers that have the shapes in, that you want to make the clipping mask from, then make sure you have that layer selected, then create the clipping mask.
Layers>Merge Layers
I am not sure that I have helped.
Good luck
