Creating a Login?

Does anyone know of any tutorials on how to create a simple user login consisting of user name and password input boxes and a sql database of these details to be checked against.

you would need javascript for the login to function correctly...

but to just design it, you can use html.

You wouldn't generally use JavaScript for this purpose, it is much more common to use php with MySQL.
