creating a vector sun beam effect

creating a vector sun beam effect

Postby destrutor on Wed Apr 04, 2007 12:26 am

Hi All

Just wondering if anyone could assist me with creating a 'vector' sunlight effect, like shown here: http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-2818254.html

I know how to do something similar in PS using brushes , but i'm wanting something that can be resizable.

Would the process just be to create one 'beam' on top of a background & then copying & pasting it at different 'precise' angles from then on ?.

Thanks in advance

ok , so what i worked out was,

i created a box at say 50x50 mm
i then place a guide at 25mm , then on each side of that guide by 5mm,

Using the pen tool, from the top left guide i drew a straight line to the top right guide, then to the bottom left guide, then to the bottom right quide & then back to the original top left guide...making an X shaped object

Then double clicking the rotate tool & selecting 15 degrees -> "copy"
Then continued to press "cntrl D" until i had a sun shape.

Then created a circle at the centre of the sun & cut it out .

Anyone know an easier way ?.
