CS2 Help---My Brushes have stopped working!

Postby Larry Scaramella on Fri Jun 22, 2007 2:02 am

I am trying to use a mask and brush to apply a blending mode to a layer.

Mode is Normal.. Opacity is 100 Flow is 100 mask is active, mask is black, foreground color is white.

When I paint on the mask the blend usually comes through but has stopped happening. In this case NO white marks are showing on the black mask so nothing is coming through....

Is there a reset button in case I accidentally changed some setting.
I can do the exact same procedure on my lap top and the effect is working correctly..

Help!

Hmmm.. what size is your brush tip? Any odd settings in the brush palette?

As far as resetting preferences, you can press CRTL+ALT+SHIFT (all at the same time) when the PS splash screen shows (after double clicking your PS icon) and it should ask you to reset your preferences. If that doesn't work then go to c:\docs and settings\your user name\application data\adobe\photoshop\version number\version name of PS\ folder and delete the prefs.psp file (on cs2 it is called Adobe Photoshop CS2 Prefs.psp)

Hope that helps. :)

Thanks for your suggestion. Resetting the profiles took care of this problem for me.
