CS4 cant view or save layers as one

im working on a picture here

ive desaturated it , and created a few layers

so i could work on individual aspects of it

one task/effect on each layer

All i did on each layer individually was ( via history brush )

brush back certain colours of the picture

The problem now is i have no idea how to merge ?

all these layers , if thats the term ,

i want to make all layers visible and save so i

can see all the work ive done on all layers as 1

picture

All i can see now is 1 layer at a time by turning the previous

layer off

i may not have the language/terms correct , i do hope

i ve made myself understood

depending on what you did on each layer you see them all unless you have them hidden

Hi

all i did was desaturate then duplicated to a few layers

so i can work on each layer individually in case i make

errors in one it wont destroy hours of work

i can view each layer by clicking off the one previous

to it

The task is complete now so what i want is to merge ,

if thats the term , all the work together in one visible

picture so i can print it

Right now i have all the layers saved as a psd

take a screen shoot of your layers palette and post it… I'm not understanding your problem very well, this seems very wrong as you explain your delima

Your top layer is hiding what ever you did to the other layers,
if any thing. Is the top layer your final version? Or do other layers have editing that should show up?Hard to say with little thumbnail images

Top layer is only part of the pic

All other layers have some editing i want shown as well

Ie the strings on the hat , 1 layer for left 1 for right

If I understand right, you created layers with the whole picture, correct?unless certain areas are transparent on the top layer your not going to see next layer down.I may be wrong here but I think what you need to do is copy sections of the picture (in edited layers, lower layers) then paste them over top image, deleting or close(hide) layers as you work your way back up

Yes i created layers with whole picture after i desdaturated

It makes sense what u say about under layers not being transparent ,

so i do wonder how these folks who suggest we work in ( non destructive ) layers

get this done ?

i was thinking thing just what you suggested

let me see if im less daft than i think and see if i can figure that step out
