desperately need a hand--please read me!!!!!!!!!!

hi i wanna design a system that has a database thats updated in real time from different stations in a wide geographical area. the info that i want the database to store is a name, some form of identity number and then to scan a thumb print. if the same thumbprint is scanned twice it notifies user....please help its for acollege project and im really stuck....help help help please

i dnt know a standard thumbprint scanner i guess.like the one you get on laptops or those little thumbprint pads....please im not much of a programmer but its one of my core courses so need to do this well

I don't know much about it but u can get image comparere here

Save the images in a folder and store the image path in database, the name and the identity.

After that u can compare the images.
