Thanks I just saw that, since I am still new to Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop I am trying to learn all the tricks of it all. In using the templates that Illustrator has, how do I change the color of the template to add the artwork to it to see what works well?

There are many tutorial for making templates. just search over net.
and if you wish to learn the designing techniques then do visit Link and there are many others too.
Also Adobe Illustrator is the best program for making vector graphic.
